Years ago…..No one wanted to take this gal, with no hunting experience out in the woods with a shotgun. So I made that shit happen. 🔫
I hired guides. I got educated. Got my hands bloody. 🔪 I continue to learn, in the field and beyond. 🏔
Hunting is not just about the food, or feeling Primal AF (because I do). I’m learning about conservation and what it truly takes to protect our animals. 🦌
What most folks don’t see is the money generated from hunting tags, licesenses, taxes from ammo and gear that is set aside for conservation. 🌲
Hunting has gathered more money for conservation than any other entity. 💴
I’m no expert. I am a student. ☺️
I’ve taken the last couple of years to get intimate with my food. In turn, I have become even more intimate with myself.
I know these deer were ethically raised. I know what they ate.
And, I know they were humanely killed. …..because, I took their last breath. 😌. That sits heavy within me. And I am changed in each of those moments.

I invite you to think about where you get your food. And if the idea of creating a stewardship with the land and it’s creatures bothers you, ask yourself why? 🐮
Not everyone gets to do this. Not every WANTS to do this. I get that.
Now my freezer is full. I haven’t had to buy meat in over a year and this harvest will feed myself and my friends deep into this next year. #readyfortheunknownandunknowable
